This critically acclaimed novel explores the conflict within the color line for one marginalized Harlem teen and her friends. Jasmine, the central character, hates her dark-skin and kinky hair and dreams of marrying somebody Hispanic or white so her children will have good hair. Written by Teresa Ann Willis, Like A Tree Without Roots is the story of the untreated trauma of African-Descended people and their journey to healing!
