Res! Live at the Schomburg

Tuesday, January 22 at 6:30pm
Join ImageNation and the Schomburg Center for an amazing evening with Res! The program includes a live performance by Res, a sneak peek at the ResDocumentary (an honest and up-close look at Res’s journey as an independent musician), and a talkback with Res and Steve Zegans, director of the upcoming film. Click HERE to view the documentary trailer. Presented in Association with Jill Newman Productions.
Res, a wildly talented soul rock singer, released her major label debut (“How I Do”) in 2001. The album’s single They Say Vision  was a Top 40 hit and went number 1 on the dance charts. Other singles like Golden Boys  and Ice King all received radio play. Res completed work on her second album (Black Girls Rock!) planned for a 2004 – 2005 release. After some label shakeups the album would ultimately be shelved. Res broke away from her label and went independent working on new music with Talib Kweli that would later morph into their side project Idle Warship. Upcoming projects include an EP of Fleetwood Mac covers called ReFried Mac and her third solo CD.
