Volunteering

Imagenation, a community based not-for-profit organization, is run primarily by volunteers. Donating your time to Imagenation is a worthwhile way to contribute to this organization and to support independent cinema from the African Diaspora. Imagenation is happy to accommodate students who may want to intern for school credit. Previous volunteers and interns have become permanent members of the Imagenation team.

As a volunteer you will be asked to help:

• Coordinate and manage events
• Greet guests at special events and collect audience data
• Organize and maintain film, audience and press databases
• Organize and maintain tape archives
• Correspond with filmmakers and performers
• Sell concessions and specialty items
• Publicize Imagenation
• Create and execute street promotions strategies
• Complete general office work
